On the prediction of the coronal mass ejection based on radio observations

Abstract

In terms of the analysis of the Radio Solar Telescope Network data obtained for 124 solar proton events it has been established that the correlation coefficient r between the coronal mass ejection velocities VCME and integral fluxes of microwave emission ∫ Fdt is about 0.8. A relatively good correlation (r ≈ 0.66) was found between the growth rate of microwave emission and the deceleration of frequency drift in the range of 25–180 GHz. The obtained results suggest that the shock wave generation occurs in the region of flare energy release and microwave observations can be used to predict VCME.
