Abstract

The paper presents the analysis of data on X-class solar flares during solar cycle 24. A number of characteristics of the active region (morphological structure, variations in sunspot magnetic fields, dynamics of development, etc.) were also analyzed in order to identify factors having the greatest effect on the flare activity. To acquire maximum information we used data from different levels of the solar atmosphere, obtained using both ground-based and space (SOHO, SDO, XRT, Hinode, etc.) observations.
