Monitoring of solar activity in radio range by stations of Sun service “KRIM”

Abstract

Radio astronomy diagnostic system, based at the radio telescope RT-22 and three small radio telescopes, is integrated into the World Solar Service е-CALLISTO, which includes 14 ground stations in cooperation with the orbital observatory. It gave access to 24-hour daily volume of information in a wide range of wavelengths of the events that occur on the Sun and affect terrestrial processes.

Four robotic telescopes of CrAO combined in “KRIM” Sun Service carry out solar observations in the mode of monitoring and alerts. Solar radio (monitoring) data are stored in a digital form and are exposed to the world solar service sites in real time.

Regular ongoing maintenance and modernization of radio telescopes, designed for Sun Service in the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory, as well as daily solar observations have provided high-quality data about the properties of the solar activity. The equipment and technique of observations of the dynamic spectra of solar radio emission are described. In order to exclude the influence of antenna effects on the measured signals a method based on the known spectrum of the quiet radio emission of the Sun was proposed.
