The Crimean observations of solar pulsations in 1974–2014

Observations of global oscillations of the Sun, started at CrAO in 1974, are being continued over decades. The Doppler measurements 2011–2014 confirmed the mysterious for astronomy phenomenon – pulsation of the photosphere with a period of 9597.929(15) s, which reveals stable, over 41 years, initial phase. An origin of the pulsation is unknown. It is noted however that its beating with a cosmic oscillation 9600.606(12) s occurs with a period of 398.4(2.9) d, coinciding within the error limits with a synodic period of Jupiter, 398.9 d. A hypothesis is advanced that the Sun’s beating is induced by gravity of Jupiter revolving in a reference system “Sun – Earth”.
